I've just finished this trinity knot necklace pendant which I plan to add to the shop this week. The Trinity knot is probably the best known of the Irish Celtic knots. It is also called a triquertra which comes from the Latin words 'tri' meaning three and 'questrus' meaning corners. The Trinity knot is found on metal work and illuminated manuscripts such as the Book of Kells. There is also evidence of it being carved into Celtic crosses and stone slabs from the Early Christian Period.
The Trinity knot has been interpreted in a number of ways. Many believe it symbolizes the three promises in a relationship; to love, honor and protect. These are similar to the symbols of the Claddagh ring - love, loyalty and friendship. Update: See this unique piece here Trinity Knot Necklacenow added to our Online Store.
