Ogham was in use in Ireland from the 4th to 7th centuries. It is the earliest known form of writing used by our ancestors. Each linear stroke denotes a different character of the word A Stór. A stór means my darling in the Irish language. Ogham was carved into stone and is also known to have been used in ancient manuscripts such as the famous Book of Kells.
